Uninformed, misinformed, disinformed = voting against your best interests
Too many voters believed Trump's lies, voted for him in 2024, and cost all Americans a better life. Find out how we missed out.
The media under-reported the Biden-Harris major accomplishments, and virtually did not report on Harris’s significant and many contributions to those accomplishments. This led to widespread unawareness of the huge benefits for all Americans that were achieved at home and abroad by Biden-Harris.
Moreover, the Press produced a flood of sanitized information about Trump, virtually always failing to fact-check his voluminous lies and distortions. At the same time, the Press typically overlooked the Biden-Harris Administration’s many and substantial accomplishments.
Until her candidacy for POTUS, the Press also didn’t cover Harris’s nearly 35 years’ experience in government, as an elected official in California, in the U.S. Senate, and as Vice President of the United States.
Due to video coverage of Harris’s campaign and numerous interviews, more Americans—but not nearly enough—had learned about her extensive experience as an elected leader and to perceive Vice President Harris’s high energy, high intelligence, sharp mental acuity, rapid repartee, charisma and authenticity. She’s lively, enthusiastic, and commanding. It’s clear that Kamala Harris has the experience and bearing to be President of the United States.
Nonetheless, there’s more to learn about her experience, contributions to the Biden-Harris Administration, and her planned Administration focus and policies, if elected.
Highlights of Harris’ contributions to the Biden-Harris Administration
Her tenure in the Biden-Harris administration has been marked by significant contributions across various sectors, leveraging her extensive experience in law and public service to address critical issues facing the nation.
Women's Rights and Gender Equality. Vice President Harris has consistently championed women's rights and gender equality for decades. She has advocated for policies that support reproductive health, pay equity, and workplace protections for women. Harris has also highlighted the importance of addressing gender-based violence and ensuring that women have equal opportunities to thrive in all sectors of society.
Pandemic Leadership. Her leadership, as a part of the Biden-Harris pandemic response, played a pivotal role in the administration's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. She acted as a strong advocate for equitable vaccine distribution, particularly focusing on underserved and minority communities. Harris has worked closely with health officials and community leaders to promote vaccine confidence and accessibility, ensuring that the most vulnerable populations are not left behind.
Focus on Immigration Reform. Harris has been instrumental in leading efforts to address the root causes of migration from Central America, such as economic instability, violence, and corruption. Her diplomatic engagements with leaders from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador have aimed to foster regional cooperation and create sustainable solutions that address the complex factors driving migration.
Advocacy for Voting Rights. As a staunch defender of voting rights, Vice President Harris has championed efforts to protect and expand access to the ballot box. She has actively supported legislation such as the For the People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. Harris has also worked to mobilize voters, emphasizing the importance of civic engagement and the need to safeguard democratic processes.
Economic Initiatives. Harris has been a key figure in promoting economic recovery and growth, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. She has advocated for policies aimed at supporting small businesses, increasing access to capital for minority-owned enterprises, and advancing workforce development programs. Her initiatives have focused on creating equitable economic opportunities and addressing systemic inequalities.
Climate Change and Environmental Justice. Harris has prioritized climate change mitigation and its disproportionate impact on low-income and minority communities. She has supported the administration's ambitious climate agenda, which includes rejoining the Paris Agreement, investing in clean energy, and promoting environmental justice. For over a decade, Harris has emphasized the need for comprehensive strategies that address both environmental sustainability and social equity.
Healthcare. Harris is focused on making healthcare more accessible and affordable, particularly for vulnerable populations. She has proposed expanding Medicare to cover in-home senior care, aiming to help the "sandwich generation" of adults caring for aging parents while raising their children. Harris supported the Mission Act, expanding healthcare system for Veterans.
Criminal Justice Reform. Drawing on her background as a former prosecutor, Harris has been a long-time vocal advocate for criminal justice reform. She has proposed and supported measures aimed at reducing mass incarceration, addressing racial disparities in the justice system, and working to assure police accountability. Her efforts have contributed to the administration's broader agenda of advancing fairness and equity within the criminal justice system.
Safe and Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Vice President Harris is establishing A.I. policy to mitigate risks, harness the benefits of AI, and protect Americans' privacy: Harris announced a series of new U.S. initiatives to advance AI safety and responsibility during her visit to the United Kingdom in November 2023. She has been working with the private sector and other governments to manage the risks posed by AI. Notably, she has received major voluntary commitments from leading U.S. AI companies to ensure responsible AI innovation. Furthermore, Vice President Harris announced a new policy from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to advance governance, innovation, and risk management in federal agencies’ use of AI.
Significantly Shaped Legislation. Vice President Kamala Harris cast 33 tie-breaking votes in the U.S. Senate, which enabled passage of the Inflation Reduction Act and the American Rescue Plan, to name two of thirty-three key Biden-Harris administration achievements. All thirty-three Biden-backed nominations, amendments, or legislation would not have passed Congress without Harris’ vote.
Kamala Harris' accomplishments in the Biden-Harris administration reflect her commitment to justice, equity, and progress. Her leadership has been instrumental in addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing the nation, from public health and economic recovery to immigration reform and climate change.
If elected, President Harris would have continued the work needed, as described on her campaign site, to solve the most pressing challenges facing the nation and internationally, to assure American economic strength, and to pave the way for future generations of leaders.
