There are millions of Americans who are unaware that America, let alone most other countries, is experiencing multiple crises at once: Too many believe that climate change isn’t real and ignore what they are experiencing. Too many are unaware that our environment—land, air, potable water, lakes, and oceans—is increasingly polluted from plastics and unregulated industrial chemicals, including pesticides, herbicides, and PFAS or “Forever Chemicals”. Too many are unaware of the staggering animal extinction rate due to human activities.
And too many are unaware that our democratic republic could devolve to an unregulated corporatocracy with theocratic and plutocratic oversite, depending on who is elected POTUS and who is elected to congress, state and federal. Soberly and without hyperbole, those who are elected in 2024, state and federal, will determine the fate of our democracy, American rights and freedoms, and even life on our planet.
Hence, the purpose of Democratic Perspectives is to be generally informative regarding these concerns—not the least of which is to inform people so they are motivated to vote for Democrats; and to encourage the "never Trumpers" and "on the fence" Republicans to also vote for Biden and Democrats in general.
In 2024, we must vote as though the life of our republic and life on our planet depends on it, because it does!
